Construction
Permit Application Process
Important
first steps:
1.
Confirm your planned construction is within established
set-back limits. If you are unsure of the set-back
limits for the Zone your property is in, check
with the Livingston Zoning Office.
You may be asked to submit a Zoning Review form.
2.
Bring a copy of a survey of your property to the Zoning
Office on your first visit. Draw your planned construction
on a copy of a property survey for review with the
Zoning Office. Ensure the drawing is to scale and
complies with all zoning and set-back rules.
3.
A Permit Request Form and Construction Permit Application (page
1, page
2, page
3) is required
for all construction listed below. There are some
categories of construction that do not require this
form. For both Major and Alterations categories below,
the Electrical and Plumbing sections of the Permit
Request Form should be filled out by a licensed Electrician
and Plumber, who must also place their seal on the
form. You will receive these forms on your first
visit to the Building Office to review your planned
construction.
4.
Major categories below also
require a Development
Fee Calculation Form.
Print out the form, fill it out, make 5 copies and
bring in with your Permit Application.
5.
When submitting your Construction Permit Application,
provide three (3) sets of construction
drawings and a sealed survey of the property certified
to current owners. Also, a copy of the sealed survey
showing the proposed work drawn to scale if the footprint
or height of the home is changing.
