Maintenance
Under
the direction of the Township Manager, the Township Engineering Department
has drafted a long range plan for the maintenance and improvement of
the Livingston Road System. The new plan was drafted by combining independent
ratings of the road system pavement surfaces and curb conditions with
the existing knowledge base of the Department of Public Works. The resurfaced
roadways will receive new curbing in deficient areas, drainage structures
and piping where required, and new paved surfaces. In areas where the
pavement base is unstable portions of the roadway will be reconstructed
to accommodate the new riding surface. The final completion of all roads
will be dependent on weather conditions and contract costs. The Engineering
Department and the Department of Public Works will be evaluating the
new program each year and will be designating new roads in each category
based on condition.
