Monday, October 15th 7pm to 8pm

Ninety percent of sudden cardiac deaths in youth athletes occur during or after athletic activities.  Hidden heart conditions are often the cause.  When preliminary testing to identify potentially serious cardiac problems is provided to young athletes, sudden cardiac arrest and tragic deaths may be avoided.  Saint Barnabas Health Care System is taking a proactive role in identifying potential cardiac problems in young players, through the Playing with Heart initiative.

Playing with Heart is a program which offers preliminary medical screenings, based on American Heart Association recommendations, to help identify young athletes who should be further evaluated.  The program also teaches students, parents, and coaches about warning signs, symptoms and ways to help prevent sudden cardiac death in youth sports.

HCHY is proud to present this free Information Session to the Livingston Community in partnership with Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston Public Schools, Livingston Township Council, Department of Recreation and Parks, Parent-Teacher Council, Livingston Soccer Club, Livingston Jr. Lacrosse, Jr Lancer Football & Cheerleading, American Little League, National Little League, Sr. Little League, and the Big L Club.
