LIVINGSTON HEALTH DEPARTMENT
HOSTS FALL HEALTH FAIR 2007
The Livingston
Health Department invites all of its residents
to the Fourteenth Annual Health Fair on Saturday,
September 29th from 8:30 till 12:00PM. We are
excited to hold the event at our easily accessible
Senior/Community Center at 204 Hillside Avenue.
Joining us that morning will be a variety of
medical professionals, along with other guests
in related health fields, for free screenings,
health education and information. Whole Foods
Market of West Orange will be a guest this year
with presentations on healthy eating. Back by
popular demand are members of the Essex county “4H
Seeing Eye Puppy Project.”
This is a training program for the puppies that
may advance to becoming service dogs for the
Morristown Seeing Eye.
Free screenings offered: Vision, Hearing, Dental,
Chiropractor, Bone Mineral Density, Podiatry,
Skin Cancer, Body Fat Content and Blood Pressures.
Exercise tips, rehabilitation information, home
care assistance, theories on alternative medicine,
will be available for review. The students from
Seton Hall University School of Nursing will
also be joining us that morning. Once again,
they will have interactive projects on healthy
living to share with us. Other health professionals,
along with various Livingston Township Departments
will be present to share information on community
services. We will partner with Medical Laboratory
of West Orange to offer a variety of blood screenings
at very reasonable prices. These tests will include:
a comprehensive Health Profile, Lyme, PSA, T3,
T4, Hepatitis B surface antigens, Homocystein
and CPR (cardiac screens) and Blood type with
Rh factor. The registration forms for the blood
work will be available at Town Hall and the Health
Department at the Community Center.
Our goal, as always,
is to encourage a healthy lifestyle by providing
the most current health education and information
for our residents. The screenings provide early
detection of health problems and disease prevention.
If you have any questions or wish further information,
call us at the Nursing Division (973) 535-7961

you at the Fair!
