Thursday, February 4, 2010
Senior Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue
The
Livingston Environmental Commission (LEC), in conjunction with
the Association of NJ Environmental Commissions (ANJEC), will
host a slide show highlighting key elements of the full draft
Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI) being prepared by Amy
S. Greene Environmental Consultants for the Township.
The public is invited to attend this presentation, which is
being given as part of the Livingston Environmental Commission’s
regular monthly meeting at the Livingston Senior and Community
Center on Thursday, February 4, starting at 8:30 pm. For more
information contact Art Altman at 973-716-0553 or art.altman@gmail.com.
The ERI provides visual depictions of natural resources, in
the form of mapping information and text that describes these
resources, their sensitivities and limitations for development
and suggested measures for protection of sensitive resources.
The
ERI details the Township’s geology, topography, energy
use, flood areas, land uses, wetlands, existing and planned
infrastructure, wildlife, water supply, historical places, air
quality, and bodies of water. It serves as a tool for planning,
a guide for surveys and other scientific activities and as a
resource to increase public understanding of the environment.
