On Friday, September 8 at 7:00 pm, the Livingston Symphony Orchestra (LSO) kicks off it 50th anniversary season with a celebration at the Cedar Hills Country Club in Livingston. The event, which includes food, wine and music, is a benefit for the LSO.

"50 Years and All that Jazz" will feature three musical groups:

  • Gil & Tuey is a multicultural group which performs music of the Americas—gypsy jazz, flamenco, American songbook, blues and more. Mexican Gil Gutierrez is a veteran guitarist of many of the best Latin American pop stars from Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, and Argentina. Native New Yorker Tuey Connell is recognized as a 'one of a kind' vocalist and banjo player who has performed across the U.S. and Mexico. Gil & Tuey will be joined by virtuoso violinist Venezuelan Ali Bello and New York percussionist Stefan Schatz.
  • New Jersey native and master pianist "bishop of jazz," Rio Clemente delights audiences locally and internationally with his unique style of jazz. Clemente mixes his strong classical training with a rich knowledge of jazz history, then adds his own creativity and interpretation.
  • Big band style trio Cornucopia perform at venues throughout New Jersey. Led by trumpet and flugelhorn player Steve Baldalmenti, whose work is featured on movie and television sound tracks, Cornucopia musicians include keyboard player Ken Lorenz and John Lenis on bass.

Musical entertainment will also be provided on Saturday, September 9 at the new Livingston Town Center from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.
