CANDIDATES' NIGHT ON OCTOBER 4

LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS HOLDS CANDIDATES' NIGHT

The Livingston League of Women Voters will hold a Congressional Candidates' Night on Monday, October 4, at 8:00 P.M. in the Livingston High School Band Room. The Livingston League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization, and all registered voters are encouraged to attend.

Since Livingston is divided between Congressional districts 8 and 11, candidates from both districts have been invited. From the 8th Congressional district, incumbent Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr., Democrat, has been invited along with his opponents, who are: George Ajjan, Republican and Joseph Fortunato, Green Party.

From the 11th Congressional district incumbent Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen, Republican, has heen invited, as well as his opponents, who are: John Mele, Independent; Austin Lett, Libertarian; and James Buell, Democrat.

The Livingston League of Women Voters will ask the candidates to respond to three questions received in advance regarding taxes, social security, and the Iraq war. The audience is then encouraged to ask their own questions. The evening will conclude with refreshments and an opportunity to talk informally with all candidates. TV channel 34 will record the Candidates' Night, to be shown at a later date.

Livingston High School is located on South Livingston Avenue, Harp Memorial Drive. From the parking lot on the right of the school, there is a first floor entrance that leads to the Band Room.
