The Livingston Post Office will hold an open house on Tuesday, November 30 from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm to introduce the new Automatic Postal Center (APC), which will enable customers to purchase postal products and services with a debit or credit card.
Refreshments will be served.

 

On Wednesday, Nov. 17, the League of Women Voters will host Assistant Superintendent of Schools Eunice Grippaldi, who will discuss the "No Child Left Behind" law and what is being done for children in crisis. That meeting will begin at 8:00 pm in the Senior/Community Center on Hillside Ave.

Senior Car Care Week begins Monday, Nov. 15 for Livingston senior citizens. Livingston High School automotive students perform fluid check, lube, oil and oil filter change, tire rotation. Bring own oil and filter. Space is limited: call Kay Whitman at 973 535-7975 for appointment.

The Essex County clerk's office will visit Livingston Township Hall on Monday, November 15 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm to process passport applications, veteran and physician licenses, and notary public oaths.

For the opening concert of the 2004-2005 season, “Grandeur and Romance,” returning conductor Istvan Jaray and the Livingston Symphony Orchestra will perform Wagner’s Overture to Rienzi, Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G Minor and Franck’s Symphony in D. The event will be held on Sunday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m. at Livingston High School.

West Essex YMCA’s 5K and 2-Mile Walk Scheduled for Sunday July 11. Registration begins at 7 am with races commencing at 8:30 am. For more information call the West Essex YMCA at (973) 992-7500.
Note: several roads will be closed from 7:30 am - 10:30 pm for the Run, including Amelia and Avon Avenues, Belmont Drive, Hill Street, Irving Avenue, Macopin Drive and Court, Madonna Drive, Memorial Park Oval, South Ashby Avenue, Taconic Road, Tuscan Road and Wahler Road.

The "Vietnam Wall Experience," a traveling, 3/4-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, is coming to Memorial Park at the Oval from July 30 - August 2. It will be open 24 hours a day and is free to the public.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Quinn Hopping and Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman funeral homes, who are part of Dignity Memorial Service Corp. Int'l, which owns the wall.

The exhibit crosses the country every year, allowing millions to see and touch the black, mirror-like surface inscribed with the names of more than 58,000 servicemen and women who died or are missing in Vietnam. The faux-granite replica is 240 feet long and eight feet high.

July 4 festivities begin at 8:30 am with an automobile show. Events for children events begin at 10 am. At 7:30 pm, the show begins with a performance by Beatlemania Again in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' performance on the Ed Sullivan show. Fireworks start at 9:00 pm.

Livingston's Memorial Day service took place at the oval in front of LHS at 9:30 am on Monday, May 31.

Don't miss "Just Like I Wanted," an LHS Inner Circle production about teen suicide on Friday, 21, Wednesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 27. Performances are at 7:30 pm and admission is free. The play is written and directed by an LHS senior.

The LSO's final concert of the current season - "A Musical Tour of Europe" - will be held at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, at Livingston High School.
