Livingston
resident Ken Klein will perform "Music of the Guitar"
at 1:00 pm at the public library on Friday, March 21 as part
of "Senior Happenings."
Artist
and Livingston High School teacher Leonard Merlo will share
his unique experiences during a recent visit to Japan as a
Fulbright funded American educator on Thursday, March 20 at
7:00 pm at the Ruth R. Rockwood Memorial Library. The evening
is sponsored by the Arts Council
of Livingston and the Library,
and refreshments will be served.
Merlo
will present his insights into Japanese culture through the
tea service, a central ritual that is representative of Japanese
culture. He will also recount t life with his host family,
conversations with artisans and patrons, students and educators
to help the audience gain an understanding of Japan today
and its links to its past.
Merlo
specializes in ceramics and sculpture and has received numerous
awards and grants.
