AARP
The Livingston Chapter (No.
3663) of AARP is open to residents who are age 50 and over.
The chapter engages in community service activities and
tries through programs and fellowship to prolong and improve
the well-being of retired persons. Monthly meetings are
held at the Salaam Temple at 1:00 pm on the first Friday
of the month, and guests are welcome. Applications to be
placed on the waiting list can be obtained at a meeting.
ARTS ASSOCIATION
Organized in 1959 to foster
an appreciation of the fine arts. Large scale exhibitions,
demonstrations and workshops highlight the year 'round program.
Day and evening classes for adults and children are available
for interested members. Non-artist members are welcome.
CAMERA
CLUB
Formed to share experiences,
knowledge and common interests for improvement in skills,
both with the camera and in the darkroom. Beginners and
advanced members cover color and black and white photography.
Meets usually on the second and fourth Mondays at the
Hillside Senior/CommunityCenter at 7:30 pm from September
- May.

FORCE HOMESTEAD
Open to the public on the
second Sunday, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, during April, May,

LIVINGSTON HISTORICAL
SOCIETY
Established to help the
community understand and enjoy the rich heritage of our
township. Open meetings are held on the fourth Monday,
September - April, at the Senior/Community Center about
subjects of local historical interest. The Society maintains
the Ely Cemetery which is open to the public on Memorial
and Veteran's Days, and has restored and maintains the
interior contents of the Force Homestead. Annual dues
are $5.00 per person.
The Society observed
its 40th anniversary on March 9, 2003 with an open house
in the historical Force Home. In 1963 the town acquired
the Force Home and then-township manager Robert Harp
urged that the historic house be turned into a museum
and that a group of volunteers be solicited to maintain

LIVINGSTON
SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The Orchestra provides
an opportunity for qualified amateur musicians to perform
under the direction of a professional conductor. Opportunities
also exist in orchestra management and administration.
Three major concerts are presented in each season. Many
performances are held at Livingston High School which
is handicapped accessible. Additional performances may
also be given. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights, September
- May.
BASEBALL
The Department cooperates
with the American Legion Post No. 201 of Livingston
in the sponsorship of a team of players 15 - 18 years
of age in the Essex County American Legion League. Competition
