Vision 20/20 Committee
Statement of Purpose
“Some communities allow the future to happen to
them. Successful communities decide the future is something
they can create. These communities take the time to produce a
vision of the future they desire and employ a process
that helps them achieve their goals.” National Civic League
Handbook
The
purpose of this committee is to create a long-term vision for
the Township of Livingston that will improve the quality of life
for the community, its residents and businesses.
The
committee plans to accomplish this through a broad based community
collaboration with all interested residents, township organizations
and businesses. Input from all members of the Livingston community
is vital to the success of the Vision 20/20 process.
Vision
20/20 will create an assessment of the Township’s strengths and
weaknesses. It will determine who we are, where we want to be
20 years from now and what we will need to accomplish this vision.
The
action areas to be addressed are:
1.
Arts and Culture
2. Economic Development
3. Transportation
4. Public Safety
5. Parks & Recreation
6. Government & Volunteerism
7. Education & Youth & Social Services
8. Environment & Open Space
Sub-committees will be formed to study all of these action areas.
These sub-ommittees will meet with all interested residents and
all organizations that are involved in these areas of action.
Within a set time frame, they will come back to the Vision 20/20
committee with their analysis and recommendations.
