WHAT SUGGESTIONS DO YOU HAVE TO
IMPROVE LIVINGSTON?

HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR OPINION HEARD!

The Vision 20/20 committee has been asked by the Livingston Town Council to develop a questionnaire seeking the opinions of the town residents on how Livingston can improve in eleven different categories.  The questionnaire is a more in depth follow up to one that was done four years ago.  The purpose of this town-appointed committee is to create a long-term vision for the Township of Livingston that will improve the quality of life for the community, its residents and businesses.  The goal is to look at the year 2020, but after many working sessions on long range planning, it has become apparent that the future is now.  The committee chairman is Alan Karpas.

The areas for consideration of improvement are Economic Development, Transportation, Public Safety, Preserving Open Space, Youth and Social Services, Recreation and Parks, Adult Education, Arts and Culture, Senior Citizens, Volunteerism, Conservation and Environment.   Quoting from the National Civic League Handbook, Alan Karpas says: “Some communities allow the future to happen to them. Successful communities decide the future is something they can create.  These communities take the time to produce a vision of the future they desire and employ a process that helps them achieve their goals. We are anxious to hear our resident’s opinions and hope to put them to use to improve the community.”

The Vision 20/20 questionnaire is available on line at www.livingstonnj.org and at the Livingston Town Hall and Livingston Public Library.   If you would like a copy mailed to you please contact Alan Karpas at 973-992-6411 or via email at alan@karpas.net.  The committee is also available to come to individual meetings to present the questionnaire to groups. Responses can be dropped off at either the Community Center or the Public Library.
