ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH APPRECIATION WEEK
Healthy Community Healthy Youth Initiative of Livingston,
Inc. (HCHY) will chair Youth Appreciation Week for
the fourth consecutive year. HCHY has planned the following series
of programs and festivities:
Monday, May 24
To kick off the week-long event, there will be a Live LTV Production
featuring the kids of Livingston and how "Livingston Kids Can."
Tuesday,
May 25
"Livingston Love-In" 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The Livingston
Town Center will hold an outdoor festival with five bands featuring
"Cash-Cash." Prizes will be awarded to students for Best
Hippie and Best Tie-Dye. Local stores, organizations and charities
will participate with table displays, giveaways and wares. The theme
is Respect, Civility and "Love thy neighbor and love your neighborhood."

Silent Service at Livingston High School (not open to the public),
8:00 am
LACD
Youth Sports Clinic, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) will hold
a Youth Sports Clinic featuring wiffle ball for children with special
needs of all ages at the Monmouth Court Community Center (26 Monmouth
Court), co-sponsored by the West Essex YMCA
Thursday,
May 27
Children's program at the Livingston Library featuring nationally
renowned storyteller LuAnn Adams (pre-registration required), 7:00
- 7:45 pm
"Open Mike Night" for high schoolers at the Gazebo at
the Oval, starts at 6:00 pm. Music &Games - Livingston local
acts will entertain. THis event has been solely coordinated by the
students and advisors of the LHS Community Action Club (CAC) and
is open to any high school student who lives in Livingston.

May 28
Livingston Youth and Community Services (LYCS) Peer to
Peer Teen Conference at the Senior & Community Center, 3:30
pm - 6:00 pm
"Great Mall Mystery Fun Hunt" at the Livingston Mall for
children ages 3-13 years with chaperone, at 3:00 pm. Begin your
adventure at the center court on the lower level.
Parent's Night Out, 6:00-9:00 pm. Children ages 3 1/3
to 12 years old will participate in supervised and guided activities
at the Senior & Community Center while parents go out on the
town; pre-registration required.

Family Festival Day at the Oval, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Events include:
obstacle courses, pony rides, petting zoo, Adopt-a-Pet, a performance
by Dave Street featuring his highly acclaimed "Clean Communities
Program," a "Classic Car Show." In case of rai, most
events will be moved inside Livingston High School.
"Bike
Rodeo" presented by the Livingston Police Department
and the Livingston Robotics Club, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Registration
is at 3:00 pm in the new high school parking lot on Madonna Drive
"Movie Under the Stars" at the Oval: "Cloudy with
a Chance of Meatballs" showing from 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm.
Sunday,
May 30
"Raise the Circus Tent" at the Livingston Eisenhower Corporate
Campus at the Livingston Circle, 7:00 am; Circus at the Livingston
Eisenhower Corporate Campus at the Livingston Circle at 2:30 pm
and 5:30 pm.
Monday,
May 31
Livingston's Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Oval at 9:30 am, followed
by the Memorial Day parade down Livingston Avenue; Circus at the
Livingston Eisenhower Corporate Campus at the the Livingston Circle
at 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm.
