Summer and Seasonal Jobs with SYLS
Due to COVID-19, we will not be holding Open House events this year. Livingston takes prevention recommendations seriously and considers the health and safety of residents first and foremost.
Please apply for Summer 2021 positions according to the instructions. Selected candidates will be contacted by email with information about virtual interviews.
We have openings for the following positions:
- Camp Counselors
- Lead Counselors
- Counselors in Training (volunteer positions for rising 9th graders)
- Camp Maintenance Workers
- Snack Bar Attendants

Summer 2021 Applications Due: April 9, 2021
Pool employees (lifeguards and snack bar attendants) must be at least 15 years old by May 1, 2021.
Camp employees must be entering 10th grade. Counselors in Training must be entering 9th grade.
All minors under the age of 18 who work in New Jersey must have an employment certificate – also called “working papers.” The required form will be available at the Open House. More information: Employment Certificates (State of New Jersey)
All camp staff will be required to work the full SIX weeks! Vacation days will not be granted. Excused absences may be granted such as: college orientation and/or doctor’s appointment. Proper paperwork is required for these requests with approval from Camp Director.
Snack Bar: Some weekend availability required.
Lifeguards must be available to work every weekend during the pool season. Adherence to the attendance policy in the lifeguard handbook is required, including giving required notice for absences.
