Please Note: The Bureau of Vital Statistics will be closed to the public along with most Livingston municipal offices until April 6, 2020, subject to further extension. Records can be requested by mail during this time (see below).
Couples seeking a Marriage/Civil Union License, and anyone who needs a Birth, Death, or Marriage/Civil Union record immediately, should contact the Township Registrar at 973-535-7961 x222 or email@example.com.

Birth Certificates, Death Certificates, and Marriage/Civil Union/Partnership Licenses are only available at the Livingston Health Department. Located in the Livingston Senior/Community Center.
About the Bureau of Vital Statistics
The Bureau of Vital Statistics is conducted under the supervision of the Township Registrar. The Registrar’s office is required to see that all births, marriages, deaths, civil unions and partnerships that take place within the Township of Livingston borders are properly recorded locally and with the State Vital Statistic Office in Trenton. Certified copies of vital statistics records, marriage, civil union and partnership licenses, and burial permits are issued by this division. Census track mortality statistics are also kept on file.
The Bureau of Vital Statistics accepts walk-in applications to obtain a copy of a vital record at the location above. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays. You must submit your application by 4 p.m. to obtain your certified copy the same day.

We accept most major credit cards in person. Cash or credit / debit card only in person, money order only through the mail.
