Tree Collection / Recycling Schedule
- Christmas trees are picked up weekdays from January 1 through January 31 each year
- Pickups are made Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
About the Program
In January of each year, Livingston’s Department of Public Works conducts a program to collect and recycle Christmas trees. Simply leave your undecorated cut tree at the curb, just as you do for your recycling.
Public Works Department employees will remove and recycle the trees. Once collected, the trees are put through a chipper; the resulting untreated wood chips can then be made available to residents for pickup at no cost. The untreated wood chips created from the trees can be used in flower beds and garden borders.
Cost Saving
The Christmas tree collection program saves the cost of garbage disposal, since the Township is charged by weight to remove bulk items.
