Recycling & Reclamation Committee

The Township's Recycling and Reclamation Committee continues to research, practice and teach ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. They also participate in the Township's Electronics Recycling & Paper Shredding events each year.

Recycling in Livingston

Livingston recycles the following materials:

  • Batteries
  • Commingled glass and plastics #1 - 7
  • Light bulbs
  • Metal
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Special/non-traditional items

TVs, Computers, & Monitors on the Curb

New Jersey residents can not put TVs, computers, monitors or other electronics out on the curb for regular trash collection pickup. These items must be properly disposed of, either at an electronics drop-off point, such as a county or municipal solid waste collection center, or a participating electronics retail store.

To help residents dispose of electronics properly, the Township typically hosts 3 Electronics Recycling & Paper Shredding Events each year. For more information, visit this website's Electronics Recycling page.
