Nationwide Emergency Alert System Test

On Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at approximately 2:20 p.m., there will be a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). 

The EAS portion of the test will be sent to radios and televisions. The WEA portion of the test will be sent to all consumer cell phones. 

In case the October 4th test is postponed due to widespread severe weather or other significant events, the back-up testing date is Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

To reiterate, this is just a test.
