The Livingston Police Department will be holding a 10-week Citizens Police Academy this fall. Applications will be available starting on Monday, June 25.

What

This no-cost, 10-week program is designed to give participants an understanding of the operation of the Livingston Police Department and a working knowledge of what law enforcement entails.

Through this instruction, the LPD hopes to strengthen police-community rapport through an educational process, increase understanding of police practices and procedures, and dispel misconceptions. The Police Department, in turn, will become more aware of the concerns and questions of the community it serves.

Who

Participants must be at least 21 years of age and reside or work in the Township of Livingston.

When

Classes will be held every Thursday from September 6, 2018 to November 8, 2018, from 7 pm to 9 pm.

How to Apply

Applications will be available beginning June 25, 2018. The class will be limited to 20 students, so those interested should register early.

Applications can be picked up at the Livingston Police Department, 333 S. Livingston Avenue, or found online here

For more information, contact Officer Joy Klapal at jklapal@livingstonnj.org or 973-992-3000 ext. #3229.
