If you haven’t taken the 2020 Census yet, take it now!

Find out why it's important to take the census here

Long 3d rectangular blue button with text Your responses to the 2020 Census will help ensure that New Jersey is represented fairly and accurately for the next 10 years.

All information provided is confidential and secure, and Census Workers will never ask for personal/identifying info.

Why Was the Deadline Extended?

The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that some efforts to ensure a complete count couldn't be managed within the shortened time remaining once things started to open up again.

It is hoped that the extension will allow more of those who have not yet been able to take the census to do so.

The results of the 2020 Census will determine the number of House of Representative seats each state has and, in turn, the number of delegates for each state in the Electoral College. Once determined, these numbers will remain in effect for elections from 2022 through 2030.
